This date in history - VJ Day - The surrender of Japan - THE WAR IS OVER!

What an illustrious day. If you were living you know exactly how your felt and exactly where you were. If you weren't alive, then you have to imagine all the emotions that were running rampant that day. Oh glorious day! :drinkin:

Rocky sent me the newsletter he receives from VetFriends.com, and I am sharing some of it here with you. I took screen shots to display here.

Thanks for placing that here. I will listen later. Right now I am on the store computer at the counter, and alas, no speakers.

Right now I'm at the OTHER END of the war. Working on the North African segment for the documentary. It's so much fun pulling audio, video, text and photos, together. I even wrote to one of my vets this morning for the correct pronunciation for some of the N African towns. Since I'm narrating, gotta get it dead-on! Nothing more aggravating watching a documentary, and hearing the narrator/historian, saying the names incorrectly.

So thanks to Art Cook for his pronunciation guide. :clappin:

And once more, hail to Truman; you saved more lives than you'd ever realize! :armata_PDT_37:
