  John MacDonald 540th
Posted by: Walt's Daughter - 07-24-2005, 10:08 AM - Forum: WWII ENGINEERS - No Replies

What a pleasant surprise. While on our way to a benefit for kids last night, my cell phone rang and it was Evelyn MacDonald, the wife of John from the 540th. I was given Bill and Evelyn's name from another member of their unit and they called to say that they had just received my newsletter and attachments. They said they were so thrilled to be reading all about the 540th again and I guess I took them for a trip down memory lane.

We had a wonderful conversation. It was the first time we had ever spoken to each other. Unfortunately I wasn't able to talk for very long because of the noise of the event, so I promised I would call them back this afternoon.
