Hello old vets,

My father died years ago and he never said much about his stint in Europe. I saw his discharge papers but they didn't have much info. So I found in his stuff which my sister gave to me his old Ration Cards. Dated April '44 and Oct '44 they gave his unit as the 1302d Engr (GS) REGT and he was in Company A.

I found a coulpe of Cemetery markers with the unit, in GA and PN, but that is it.

Does anyone know or know where to find info on his unit during that time?

Thanx

H.H.

Well Papa Art and I are off to the October 101st Meeting here in Michigan I get to present Don Burgett with the little gift I made for him; the slide show presentation of his trip to Europe last month. Hope he likes it.

I'm sure he and Mark Bando will have all kinds of interesting tales to tell regarding their journey.

I am bringing some items of interest along with me too. Many of the things that I've received from vets over that last few months including items from Normandy. The guys will love it! :pdt34:

  Charles D Guy - 180th Inf G Co
Posted by: smonfrini - 10-17-2005, 06:11 PM - Forum: LOOKING FOR... - Replies (24)

I'm not sure what I need to say here but i'm trying to find out anything I can about my fathers past military history. I'm hoping somewheres out there it will reach anyone who can help me.

His name was Charles D Guy he served in the 180th infantry in G company from 8/43 to 10/45 He was in Southern France, Central Europe, Rhineland. He was wounded in action in Southern France Oct 31 44. He passed away when I was very young there was no records, medals, pictures or anything of the sort left by the time I was old enough to think about that part of his life. He also served from 12/45 to 12/48 but noone I can find knows what or where he served at that time.

What I'm looking for is anyone who knew him or pictures really anything at all about him. I know you may not have know him or even been in this unit. But I guess it may be possible that you knew someone else that did. Or could tell me even if I'm close to being on the right track for this company. Thank you very much for your time. I appreciate anything you could tell me.
