Battle of the Bulge re-enactment

This was the post from 2003, but it's still carrying on...

A living History. The WW-II tactical reenactment of the BOB will be presented by 'THE FEDERATION', at Ft. Indiantown Gap, outside Harrisburg, PA Jan.21-26, 2003. Admission and attendance is by advanced registration through the FEDERATION, and there is a cut-off date. The event which is 6 days this year, will include a veteran's recognition. The 1.000 young men and women re-enactors representing American, British, Canadian, Scotch, Australian, and German troops in authentic and reproduction uniforms with authentic equipment and weapons live and adopt the rigors of their respective countrys in the original WW-II barracks at the Fort. The several flea markets on the post are busy daily with the reenactors bartering, selling and buying varied types of clothing, apparell, equipment and accessories pertinent to the engaged troops during the battle. The "battle scenario" beginning at 9:00am Saturday is open to the public. A dinner and evening of "peiod entertainment" closes out the week.Inquiries should be made to : Dave Shaw,(724)627-8545 or e-mail; Dave@ww-iifederation.org ...or...Drew@ww-iifederation.org

  Protesters AGAINST soldiers
Posted by: Walt's Daughter - 02-03-2006, 09:35 PM - Forum: Current Events - Replies (10)

My friend SSgt Ben Joy sent this to me. He recently returned from Iraq.

------------

Everyone,

I have been checking into a group that has really got my blood preasure up. This group that affiliates them with a church goes around and protests at funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq protecting our great country. Just look at the pictures of their protests that are within the shouting distance from the greiving families. These pictures are from our great state of Indiana, just 4 days ago. I am here to say they will not get away with this agian on my watch. If they plan to protest in this state again it will be with great aggression towards them. Please, i need help in spreading the word against this group. If anyone is interested in helping stop these people from terrorizing families at the funerals of their loved ones, let me know. I will try and keep everyone up to speed as to when they plan to come to Indiana. Thanks for your time.

  FRAUD
Posted by: bearlee - 02-03-2006, 10:30 AM - Forum: OTHER WWII UNIT STORIES AND INFO - Replies (4)

There a re some items up for sale on E-Bay that have been determined to be fraudulent. They were offered last month and after numerous complaints , removed by E-Bay. Ther have been listed again . You can find a detailed description of this fraud on Mark Bando's website TriggerTime. Plese take the time to report them.

The numbers are

#6602385613

and

#6602385613

Our friends at Triggertime have verified that these are fake. I looked at them and I concur.

Plese take the time to report them to E-Bay.

Maybe Marion you could have a topic listing about this? Its a shame that some unknowing soul would be cheated when they think they are purchasing something that represents the people they honor!

Sincerely

Jiggersfromsphilly

My friend KEN

ART,

WE WERE NOT TOLD WHAT TO EAT, BUT ADVISED TO EAT LIGHTLY AND STAY AWAY FROM GASEY FOODS. USUALLY WE HAD POWDERED EGGS, BACON, TOAST AND COFFEE. THERE WERE TIMES THAT ONE REALLY DIDN"T FEEL MUCH LIKE EATING WHEN FACING THE UNKNOWN AND YOUR STOMACH WAS TIED IN A KNOT.

I DON"T KNOW IF THE GUYS THAT FLEW IN THE PRESSURIZED B-29S HAD THESE PROBLEMS OR NOT.

KEN
