For those of you who are 45th'ers, the following towns may bring back some memories. This is taken from my dad's unit's S-3 Monthly Journal Feb '45.
On the 1st of February 1945, Company "D", 540th Engineer Regiment was maintaining highway N61 from Phalsbourg to Dossenheim to La Petite Pierre and other roads in the 45th Division area. Companies "E" & "F", 540th Engineer Regiment were constructing a defensive line from Weterswiller to Steinbourg...
