I received this in the mail, literally these two pages. I intend to call to see if I can borrow to scan the whole thing. Anyway, here is a small roster of the 1271st ECB.
The American Legion was founded in Paris France on March 15th, 1919. Friday marked the 100th anniversary of its founding, Happy 100th Birthday!!! And a big shout out to all current and past members!

Hello everyone. I'm just starting to find out about this picture of my father, Walter Boshko. He's in front of a sign. Can someone fill me in on the 2827th? I can tell you that my father was not an American, he was a Ukrainian, so I'm confused by this picture What was the role of non-Americans in the Engineering Unit?.
Hello. I am not sure if you have information on Archie Buffington who was in the 97th. Ray Repasky is my father in law and he heard from Archie's niece yesterday that he had passed away recently. I don't have any details but thought you might be interested. His picture is prevalent among the Ray Repasky pictures on the website.
Best regards,
Kevin Tucker

Marion,
I am sorry to tell you that Ray passed away last night, February 13. He was 93 years old. He had heard that his friend from the 97th had passed away last week and I think it really bothered him. He went into the hospital on Sunday and grew progressively worse.
We know Ray really appreciated all of your work on the website and with the pictures. Thanks for keeping him in your thoughts over the years.
GOD Bless you.
Kevin Tucker (Ray's son-in law)

Farewell my friend. It was a real honor getting to know you.
I am here on behalf of my Dad Sgt. Joseph J Szvetitz Jr who was in the 20th combat-engineers 1340th Company C. He participated in the invasion of North Africa, Invasion of Sicily and Omaha Beach on D-Day. He was captured in the battle of the Hurtgen Forest and broke out of a POW camp at the end of the conflict. While looking over his WW ll ribbons I noticed there is no CIB. From what I understand the CIB is available to be awarded to infantry. It is also my understanding that although they were Combat Engineers the 1340th were specifically deployed as infantry in the Hurtgen /Forest. I really would appreciate any information this group might have on this issue.
