  Bloody Rhine River Crossing
Posted by: Walt's Daughter - 03-06-2005, 03:38 PM - Forum: WWII ENGINEERS - Replies (1)

Here's a great article that is featured in this month's World War II Magazine (April 2005). It's a first hand account of a combat engineer on the day that he led an assault boat across the Rhine River and into the teeth of the German defenses at St. Goarshausen. It's called Red Ran the Rhine. Interview by Paul Trickett. Article by Oscar Friedensohn.

MY LINK WAS DEAD. DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO MY FILE, SO A BIG THANKS EB Thanks for supplying said story below! :armata_PDT_37:

On the behalf of the board and the interested, I would like to extend a laurel and hardy welcome to Mr Jimmy Doorknobs.

He has been a presence on other boards and is highly recommended as a most worthwhile addition.

OK kid now do your stuff !

  Submitting your story to HBO
Posted by: Walt's Daughter - 03-05-2005, 10:27 PM - Forum: INSTRUCTIONS FOR RESEARCH - Replies (8)

WWII Vets, take a look at this. Jim Hennessey sent me the link tonight.

HBO - Submit your story for possible inclusion? :pdt12:

I submitted my dad's story this morning and included several stories. I will let you know if they accept the inclusion. How wonderful this is. This will allow his story to be shared with an even greater number of people.

April 1, 1942 The government has notified Miami hotel ownersthat theAir Force will be taking over many of the city's 300 resort hotels to house up to 30,000 trainees.

The men will be run through a training center--dubbed by the cadets "Camp Miami Beach"---that will graduate non-flying officer trainees at the rate of 1,000 a day.
