Oh you and me both. Facebook could never take the place of a real message board. Several of my friends use it as such and it's a real pain. As you said, it just disappears down a drain hole. Facebook works well to communicate with my Alger Park and Rec board members - "Hey guys, don't forget to bring such and such to the meeting tonight..."
It works well as a basic storefront - people can see what you do, or where you are located, etc.
I had a VI Corps presence on FB until a few weeks ago, then I pulled the plug. Why am I posting in both places? Plus, when I did post something, it got lost in the shuffle. If I wanted to add something to an ongoing post, I had to scroll through dozens and dozens of topics just to find it again (if I could). So I had to stop and ask myself, why am I bothering? I hate the format and I already have a website and forum that works splendidly.
LOL! Guess we got a little off-topic but that's okay. At least we are communicating!
