Bonjour Marion: I saw the Christmas Card from WWII on your site: Correction: the card is not from the 1259th Engr Combat Bn (that is my 93 yr old Dad's unit during WWII which was created by order of XIII Corps, moved to Navy Seal (then Frogman) base at FORT PIERCE, FL as part of XVIII Corp, then moved to Camp Jackson SC as part of 2nd Army, then to LeHavre Camp Lucky Strike as part of XXII Corps, then to Marseilles attached to OISE Intermediate Section, Allied Expeditionary Forces, Supreme Hdqts ETO US ARMY). This card I sent you is from my Uncle of the 2nd Infantry Division, the INDIANHEAD DIVISION which starred in the Battle of the Bulge and is credited by historians with the most decisive & heroic results in the bulge when they stopped all Nazi incursions at Elsenborn, Belgium in their "tracks" to save Antwerp and preserve the total supply route for the coming U.S. Army onslaught into Germany to end the war. The Indianheads ended the war storming Pilsen, Czech and met the Red Army head on to cause them to stand down to allow the USA complete freedom to roam the enemy countryside for nuclear, jet and rocket secrets and technology and scientists and also factory trade secrets and innovations. Auf Wiedersehen

Thanks for posting Marion. This is an Easter Greetings card from my grandfather to my grandmother. Not 100% certain as to the year it was sent, But I think it was probably Easter of 1945.

Sweet! I can't imagine being apart for that long and yes, especially being away due to the war.
