Stand where they fought tour - The Battle in the Vosges 1944
#42

Relics:

Here some Relics as found during my trip:

- a big part of a P-47 Belly tank

- a round of a M-1 Garand

- part of a US mortar shell

I hope this story of a not well known battle was of interest for you as the Battle in the Vosges was a different kind of War!

Seems as though I heard about the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. I think they

went into combat in Italy, attached to the 34th Inf. Divn. Their Motto was----

--TO HELL AND BACK-- And they had the " RED BULL" shoulder patch. Rocky

I read this in a book titled, "Dogfaces Who Smiled Through Tears"""
