Gray Eagles

Rocky thought this would be a nice tribute to Papa Art. Thanks! He received the following email from a friend of his:

I would bet that you will enjoy this a whole lot, especially you young and the senior men !!!!!! Turn your sound way up !!

This tribute to the Gray Eagles (WWII pilots) was in conjunction with an air show in Ohio called 'The Final Roundup.'

It was the last large gathering of the remaining P-51 Mustang fighters used during WWII. There were about 120 of the fighters there, all of those in flying condition.

The flyover seen at the end of the video is composed entirely of P51s spelling out the number 51. Send it on, please; it was an event that probably will never be seen again.

Turn up the sound...

Yeah, wow. I didn't know there were that many flyable models left. It makes me haapy to see that there are. To think of all the ones that were scrapped. :armata_PDT_23: Even more so for the Axis machines. Hardly any of those around. It didn't occur to someone to keep some of those around? At least the Patton Museum at Knox is well stocked. I'll make that trip someday. There are lots of artillery related things at Fort Sill (including Atomic Annie, the only nuclear artillery piece to ever be fired.)

Once again, amazing video. Almost had me tearing up at the end!
