Anzio 1944: The Beleaguered Beachhead
#1

This was an email I received today from Captain John Fallon, 36th CE

I just found a book, new to me, which was published in 2005, Anzio 1944, by Steven Zaloga, published by Osprey Press. It is a good story about the campaign but nothing new if you are familiar with the history. What impressed me is that he shows on his maps that the 36th Engineers are on he Moletta River line and later on at the Mussolini Canal. Not only that but he shows us in front of Velletri while the 36th ID goes around. This is rare because almost all authors take the easy road and lump our regiment into the nearest Infantry Division

36 Engineers are rugged......John Fallon II. Capt. USA Ret.
