Our friend Bill Hamiter, got in touch with her. This is what he wrote. He got a beautiful response, along with some photos that I know you will want to see. Thanks Bill for stepping in to help. As I said in my letter to you, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your helping hand.

Veronique Wamin :

I have seen your posting to the VI Corps Combat Engineers Guest book (www.6thcorpscombatengineers.com). Thank you from all of us who have family members killed in action for your memory flowers .We appreciate your respectful care of our soldiers' graves .

I wish I could help you find contacts for the family members of the graves you attend .I do not have any suggestions for you .It is possible that you could find some references on the World War II Memorial web site .

http://www.wwiimemorial.com

When you reach this site click on the index WWII Registry

Next select "Search the registry ".

This will give you a form on which you can enter the name. In some cases you will have several listings with the same name for different people from the same state. In this case , you will need to search each one separately to compare to the serial number (Matricule).

Good luck and thank you for your interest.
