Good Luck with your search. Your description of your Father reminded me so much of my own Dad and how much I miss him. It's never too late to search and you might find some info about him that's hiding right under your nose, as did my sister and I when we were going through some old boxes and found all the letters home he had written to his Mom while serving in the Navy during WWII.
