Well said, Rocky and Marion. For the record the "separation of church and state" is a fabrication. The first amendment declares that: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. . . It is the Establishment Clause not the separation clause. I could perhaps see the logic of someone saying, "If you place statues depicting the birth of Christ on government property, you are elevating one religion above others." I can see where they could argue that but I don't agree. no religion is being made obligatory nor is anyone else's religious worship being curtailed. How you go from that argument to there will be no acknowledgment of God in any public discourse I don't get. You want to be atheist, go right on ahead, but don't force your atheism on the majority.
