Yes, 63 years ago that "man with the Charlie Chaplin moustache" decided to ruin Belgium and Luxembourg a bit more and put the lives of US servicemen (and German too) and Belgian/Luxembourg civilians at risk again.
I have been thinking of the Veterans I write and wrote to and of what they went through in the Ardennes.
The bitter cold, cruel fightings, every day trying to survive, seeing friends get wounded or killed, etc.
There are some activities going on this weekend here.
Around Bastogne, there are the "Historical Walks" and a new museum plans to open its doors in Baugnez (Malmedy Massacre area).
At Flamièrge, there is an inauguration of a monument to the 17th Airborne Division who fought hard in this area in January 1945.
