The Next Moon, the story of Andre Hue

I must admit that have not read much about the heroic deeds of the French Resistance during the Second World War but this book ( which i cannot praise enough ) was a great read. One passage in particular, i won't tell you about it just incase you get yourself a copy, left me with a huge lump in my throat and reaching for a hanky ( i must be getting a bit soft in my old age).

Take a look at http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0...8525588-9035821

Hi,

I have seen on your site that you have told some people to contact Leroy Sten for info about the 148th.

Leroy passed away in Oct. He was my dad's Sgt. during the war.

A friend has this posted on the WBG forum. We are trying to help him determine EXACTLY what it is. One good guess is that is was a "sweetheart pin. Anyone know for sure?

END OF TIME

Four years ago to-day December 30, 2001—at 5 P.M. I went to our bed-room and said “ Honey supper is ready†, she did not move. I called our daughter Toni Ann that MOM will not answer me. She called our other daughter Terry .—57 years and our Lord took my love home—I think of her every day , you see she was my love. Some day I will see her again but it is hard.

Art (Micky called me “ROYâ€, that’s my middle name, Le Roy, )

Her famous words were “Roy you are going to make your-self sickâ€

  The history of duct tape
Posted by: Walt's Daughter - 12-29-2005, 09:32 PM - Forum: ANYTHING WWII - No Replies

Now a workshop mainstay, the tape was first used by WWII soldiers, who wrapped it around ammunition cases to keep their bullets from getting wet. :pdt34:
