Pearson, George Sholto Manning 197 Squadron RAF
Posted by: Walt's Daughter - 07-21-2009, 11:04 PM - Forum: LOOKING FOR... - Replies (3)

A new friend of mine is looking for information.

This is in regards to Pearson, George Sholto Manning, who was a pilot, 197 Squadron RAF. I have attached a PDF of the email, because if I merely copied it here, I would lose all the formatting. You will see what I mean when you open the file.

Thanks to anyone who can assist.

Just found out Sandi`s uncle passed away last month. I met Forest many times and he was great to be around.

Forest M. Boyd, 78, of Magnolia, Delaware

Retired Navy chief

Forest M. “Boiler Room” Boyd, 78, of Magnolia, Delaware, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, in Harbor Health Care, Lewes, Del.

Mr. Boyd was born March 14, 1931, in Bangor, Maine, to the late Melbourne and Mildred Boyd. He lived there, in Lynn, Mass., and all around while in the Navy, before moving to Delaware in 1994.

Forest served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years, retiring as a chief. After that he worked as a ship fitter for Blount Marine in Warren, and then for 25 years with Roger Williams University in Bristol before retiring in 1993.

He loved fishing, and any chance to be on the water. After relocating to Delaware, he became an active member of the Harrington Senior Center.

Mr. Boyd was predeceased by his wife, Genevieve Gloria (Roy) Boyd, in 1994, and his son, Michael S. Boyd, in 2008.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda Hyler and her husband-Mark, with whom he resided; a son, Dennis J. Boyd and his wife Janet of Berwick; several brothers and sisters; and five grandchildren, Dennis James Boyd Jr., Arielle Hyler, Daniel J. Boyd, Jennifer Boyd, and Briana Hyler.

Funeral services will be held privately.
