We just finished watching THE PACIFIC again last week. So many scary and frightening moments for those "boys".

This is a very good documentary shot by Marine Combat Camera men during the battle. It won the Oscar for documentaries that year 1944. It is also interesting in that it was shot in color. It is also noteworthy in that it has a very rare moment in combat filming were you have both sides of a conflict in a shot at the same time (the photographer was behind the Marine who then shot at some Japanese running behind some obstructions). You usually get only one or the other.
