"JAY" Journal newspaper
#1

About a week ago I found this site searching for contact info for the 18th ECB and 1120 Eng. Combat Group. Together with the 348th ECB, these units published a newspaper, the "JAY" Journal. I have 2 copies from 1945 while the units were in Germany, the newspapers contain unit news and sports results.

Hopefully I can contact someone the 187th & 1120th to obtain additional copies or trade scans/photos. Scans of the 348th related articles can be seen at 348th.com in the PRIVATE LIFE / DURING THE WAR section of the forum. I'll post some of the other articles on this site in the future.

Addtionally, the 348th published a mimeographed newsletter, "The Ram's Head", I would like to obtain addtional copies of this also.

Thanks,

Tom

Again I am late in replying to new posts this week. Sorry about that. Been experiencing some sciatic nerve problems which don't allow me to sit for long periods of time. Very uncomfortable, so trying to make all my answers short and sweet!!! :P

Glad to have you hear. Thanks for joining.

Would love to see the scans of these. When you are able to do this, please post a copy here. Very cool!

Looking forward to chatting...

Here's a link on our forum for the 348th:

There is a mention here of the 1120th:

Your best best is to look through our Research section and contact Fort Leonard Wood History department and the Army Corps of Engineer's Office of History. There are also several other venues which might be very helpful.

Hello Tom, I am brand new to this site and did a search for the 187th and your post came up. My dad, Charles A Snell (deseased) was in the 187th and I would be happy to share whatever i have on it.

Thanks Colin Snell

Hey Colin - Pleased to make your acquaintance. Hopefully Tom will see your post, but I don't think he's been around for a while.

I would also suggest that you try sending him a private message (simply click on his username) and let hm know you are interested in talking with him. Let me know what happens.

Look forward to chatting with you.

All the best, M1
