Hi Marion!

Thank you for asking - Mom's case very complex. She is holding her own - so far!

Now the Siegburg news is incredible. Christoph, I hope you are sitting down.

Finally a now deceased WW2 Vet has written briefly about the Abbey at Siegburg. While he was not there long - he was there twice - he mentions 'Moose.'

Christoph all those people you tried to talk to, even Dad when we took him back to Siegburg tried so hard to get information - and nothing!

More to follow ......

Somewhere here we talked about your father swimming in the Sieg or Rhine and the temperatures in 1945. I just found this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovdFl7UnYEg

with some American soldiers Swimming in the river Rhine on 18 March 45.

Itshould be available also in English or as original in american archives.

Hi Christoph!

I hope (and am eager) around February 2015, to be able to get back into more extensive research. I need to write you some notes including asking how you and your family are and .......

Dad would have crossed the Sieg sometime on or after March 15th and before the 21st - assuming he crossed it - and for sure he would have to have carried Guidry - now that I know about Guidry's fear of the water.

I am anxious to see the film - and wouldn't it be wonderful if Marion could find an English version. That is very kind of her to try!

Happy Holidays to you and your family, and well, everyone!

Where are you getting these "new" photos? Are they in books are you finding them from locals who were around at the time?
