Thank You Marion ! Very awesome collection. WE,(WW11 vets), will soon be all gone but

I plan on sharing my collection with Fort Leonard Wood and The Army Corps of Engineers Office of History, in the future. It will not wind up in the trash or stranded and forgotten in an attic.

Hi Rocky,

Your post made me sad because it's true....I don't even like to think about the day when all our WWII Veterans are no longer with us. As long as I am alive I will attempt to remind and educate the younger generations about what you guys did for us so many years ago. I live in a small 1 bedroom house now, but I turned one of the rooms into a WWII tribute with posters, photos and other memorabilia. I have a 14 year old Great-Nephew who already has a pretty good understanding of that war which was kindled by his interest in my own small Collection of WWII items and huge Collection of WWII Documentaries on DVD, which will be his when I am gone.

Sincerely,

Jim

ps- I'm including a scan of some hand written notes about Chemical Warfare that were made by a young Marine in 1943. I found them neatly folded inside his copy of the 1940 "Marine's Handbook." There are written on authentic USMC stationary. I also found the small cut out picture of a Vargas Girl which had been glued into a page :-)

I thank you for your thoughts, Dogdaddy, But don't let things sadden you, WE are here in this

world at different times and do different things. And it is up to the people of whatever ERA as to

what is done during that time. I am happy that our generation did their duty to --right-- the

things that went wrong and the next generation can enjoy freedom and happiness. THIS IS

WHAT MAKES US HAPPY. Now it is up to you to keep the happiness going. Rocky
