yes, its been awhile but we never give up!

WWII Navy Muster Roll records just became available on Ancestry.com.

New information found on Gordon C. Van De Moortel

 

Gordon Charles Van De Moortel

Service Number 6092682

Enlisted 12 November 1943, at Rochester, NY.

Assigned to LST 141, 5 Feb 1944 from ATB Camp Bradford, NOB Norfolk, VA.

Date first recieved aboard LST 141, 16 Feb 1944.

19 July 1944, transfered to LST 4

15 August 1944, reported missing in action from LST 4, During Invasion of Southern France.

 

a google search for LST 4 shows the ship carrying parts of the 3rd Inf Division and was at Yellow Beach on 16 August.
