Crash of B-24 Liberator near my home in 1945

A tragic event occurred on Monday, 19 February, 1945, when an American B24 Liberator (A/C No. 42-50668) crashed on the moors near my home in northern England. I went to the scene just after the crash when the wreckage was still smoldering. The entire event is well chronicled -- including numerous photographs -- at ..........
