Tracing an Army Group's Path During WWII - lsedels - 03-26-2023

My Dad was a 49th Combat Engineer in the Normandy invasion. I know that this unit landed on Utah Beach. But I would like to find out what happened to them in the weeks/months afterwards. I believe my Dad had pictures of one of the concentration camps so I have reason to believe that he was eventually in Germany. But I'd like to trace his unit for at least a few weeks after landing at Utah in possible preparation for a trip to Normandy where I wanted to hire a private tour guide.

Has anyone been through this before?
