Farewell Jesse R James - 39th Engineer - Walt's Daughter - 04-21-2014

Marion,

Sorry to inform you that today 04/18/2014 we lost another veteran of the 39th.

Capt. Jesse R James II passed away at the VA hospital in Durham, N.C.

Born the 28th of Nov 1920 in Oriental, North Carolina he lived happily for 93

years, until his health started failing a few years back. Most men would have

giving up when he lost his leg in 1944 when he stepped on a mine, but he went

on and fought life like he did the war.

Thanks

Billy
