Jack Wilson - 49th Engineer - Walt's Daughter - 12-29-2010

I am trying to find out some information about my Dad's service record. I have quite a few pictures of him while he was in the service in WW II. I have attached attached a photo of him in front of the 49th Engineer Combat Battalion logo which I believe he was part of. I do not see that mentioned on his service record. Another photo I have is of him I believe with a 1st Army patch. the big A on his sleeve.

I wasn't sure if the 49th was attached to the 1st

Unfortunately my dad's been gone for almost 10 years now and I am not able to ask him about his time in WWII

Thank You

John Wilson

This is from a new forum member, who hasn't posted yet. I am placing this here for him, along with photos.

John there are numerous references to the 49th on the forum and on the main site. Simply type in 49th in the Search boxes and watch all that comes up.

I always love to see pictures from private collections because they are ones I've never seen before.

Here, here! It's great to be able to share with the whole world.

Speaking of that...several people including historians, commented about all the great video and photos in the documentary. I am so pleased to be able to do this. Many of the images have never been seen before.

Oh, I just made an album for Jack in the Photo Gallery too. :armata_PDT_01:
