Gilles and the 36th Engineers - Walt's Daughter - 03-18-2010

Gilles sent this to John Fallon:

Hello John,

Thanks for your explanations and comments about the CIB.

I am attaching to this email two group pictures of the 36th engineer group, and have put a yellow

circle around myself.

We are thinking of putting up a 36th group again to parade in Southern France one of these next summers. (It was a makeshift group

organized by myself) - I have good contacts with about 6 or 7 serious guys for now and they are motivated.

I just found beautiful pictures of the 36th infantry Division in color in Italy, boarding the ships for Operation Dragoon.

I will send you the link as soon as the movie is uploaded.

Kind regards Gilles

John responded:

Note the Seahorse patch. During the landing in Southern France we had an MP platoon attached to us along with almost every other category of the Army.
