40th Engineers - Walt's Daughter - 03-01-2009

NOTE: Oct 2016: I just tried accessing the link below, and it would appear that this website is among those that have gone by the wayside. What a shame. I will see what I can find out. :-(

Just received a request for info on the 2830th Bn, which was part of the 40th Engineer Regiment. Here's a good guide:

40th Engineers - Walt's Daughter - 10-30-2014

Was just informed by Troy Morgan, curator of the engineer museum at Fort Leonard Wood, that he is going to provide me with a complete unit history of the 40th, once they get the hard copy scanned. This is fantastic news.

Thank you Troy and everyone at Fort Leonard Wood.

Oh how sad to discover that the 40th's website is gone forever. It breaks my heart to know that no one was willing to take over the site and simply let it go. I realize that they might not have been able to keep it current, but couldn't someone at least pay for the hosting each year to keep it preserved? Breaks my heart. :armata_PDT_23: Yet, another one lost. Happens all too often.

http://users.erols.com/alctf/ - Hard to tell, but I don't think this site has been updated in years...

Here's something new in 2015. Let's try and get in touch with them.
