Farewell AL Kincer 48th Combat Engineer - Jeeper704 - 09-05-2007

My sincere condolances to Mr. Kincer's family.

I just read the sad news.

Sorry for reacting so late, but have been in a rough time myself too lately.

Farewell AL Kincer 48th Combat Engineer - Walt's Daughter - 08-23-2008

Okay, if someone cares to explain this...

I was sitting here all alone in my office this morning, and replying to a post from Civilwargal about a monument being dedicated to the Ninth re The Battle of Vicksburg. I went to the link and viewed the videos and posted my thoughts.

After replying, an overwhelming sadness come over me, and I suddenly thought about my ol' buddy Al Kincer. I thought it was a bit strange, for nowhere were there any mention of men named Al, nor had anything else within that post triggered anything in me which reminded me of him. However there he was right smack in the middle of my thoughts, and I looked over on my one wall and glanced up at his photo and said, "Man I miss you buddy!"

As I sat here and wondered why at this precise moment, should he pop into my head, I started thinking, oh gee, it's been almost a year since Al passed on, and pulled up this post and began to scroll through. Oh, this gives me goose bumps. Yep, you guessed it; it was a year ago today he passed away. :armata_PDT_23:

I'll just leave it at that...

I know the feeling ......... have this every year, August 9 ........ dad passed away August 9, 1990.

I was in Boston and felt sick that day eventhough I didn't know he was gone (I was only notified when I got home at the end of that month. Long story.).
