Roque: Congratulations on a Great grandson. No doubt you were the oldest one there.

Aint too many older than us guys left around. You mentioned carrying fatigues. We

were never issued anything but O.D.'s, but then I was not in Italy so it may have been

different. But the rest is the same, plus a couple of frag grenades and a gas mask carrier (without mask) for personal things.. The gas mask carrier was one handy thing.

Thanks Joe! I GOT ONE PRESENT FOR FATHERS DAY, THERE IN ARK.

A BOTTLE OF WINE,(French), AND I DAMN NEAR BUSTED A GUT WHEN I

SAW WHAT IT WAS CALLED!!!! THE WINE WAS CALLED*****OLD FART****

MADE FROM THE OLDEST GRAPES THE FRENCHIES HAD. I still keep looking

at the bottle in disbeleif. I think my kids, grandkids, and great grandkid were

trying to tell me someting.

Joe, we wore fatigues in summer and two pair of woolens in the winter,

it was colder than a well diggers a__ up in the mountains. I wish I had some

JALAPENO PEPPERS. then. I didn't have a gas mask carrier but I confiscated

a mussette bag and I think the Sgt. is still looking for it. Ketch me later Joe,

God Bless You and yours. Roque
