Today, I got to meet one of my WWII vets in person at my house. I am excited to have this marvelous opportunity. He is the one I told you about a few weeks back, who found me via my VI Corps Jukebox and main site. Here's to our boys!

Just got back from the restaurant. I took John, Chuck and Lee out to lunch. Treats on me!

What a grand day it was. John is so "young" and spirited. When he arrived on my doorstep, I was flabbergasted, because he looks like he was 75-80 at the most. Big smile, happy go lucky, with a mind as sharp as a tack.

He remembered so many names and faces of men in his unit, with story upon story of days training in the states, England, France, Germany and Austria. Simply fascinating.

I told him that he was under "orders" to write down all the stories he shared with me today, and accordingly I would share his memoirs on my website. It's always feel good to give a Sarge direct orders. LOL

Hated to say goodbye, but we plan on keeping in touch and seeing each other again. Blessed to know him.

I know you are on top of the world Marion. I can't wait to read what he has to say.

Good on you,

Parker

Ah, will do!

Very cool! This is great compensation for running the sites, I bet!
