I merged TWO ongoing topics on the 125th and also moved the topic to the Engineer section. This will make it easier for anyone searching for info on the unit.

I talked with my father about the insignia and he confirmed that they did not have a shoulder patch. He did not mention the DUI. I will call Eric after lunch and see if he knows where I can find one. Thanks Marion, you have been very helpful.

Oh, a good majority of the engineer units didn't have an insignia until many years after the war. Such was the case with his unit too.

Hi all,

I have a little bit of 125th information. I just wrapped up a book about the 284th and in their travels they did some work with the 125th. The following is from the official After Action Reports of the 284th:

24 April 1945 C Company of the 284th Engr. C. Bn. put in place a treadway bridge across the Altmuhl River in Belingries with the assistance of the 125th Engineers. Early on the morning of the 24th Lt. Col. Morrison of the 125th Engineers was seriously injured when his vehicle hit a mine. Captain O'Neil, S3 of that outfit, took command.

Thanks for telling us about that. Great that you could give us a bit more info.

The 14th AD's website has been offline for a little bit. I "adopted" it and have brought it back online at a new URL (I couldn't get the old url). I hope that someone from their association will want to take it back over eventually. I brought it back online just as it was, I have not edited it in any way. Anyway, since there are many links to it in this thread I wanted to let you all know that it is now located at:

Excellent! Thanks for doing this. We wanna keep everything alive!!!

I am in contact with two veterans of the 14th Armored Division. If anyone has any questions for them feel free to ask me and I'll inquire.

Thanks, that's very nice of you. Please send them my best!

FYI that I now have a page about the 125 AEB here:

http://125thaeb.info/

Eventually (when the domain comes up for renewal) it will be moving down under the Division site, 14thAD.org
