I too would love to attend the ceremony at least once.

You are going to have to be there for us Vee! Agree with Dogdaddy & Chuck - you are THE GREATEST and surely will have ENORMOUS angel wings one day in Heaven!!

Bas - what a wonderful thing to do for Mr. Tucker! Say a pray for all of us when you are at St Mere Eglise.

You would not be human if you did not get nervous.

I do get nervous-I take my time-take a breath and think of this:

"Behold, I show you a mystery: we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed…O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the Law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Also I remember the words found in Gen Lewis Armistead's Bible:

"Trust in God and fear nothing"

Relax, don't let things get to you, just focus in on the what's important at that moment.

You will do fine

Jari

my warmest regards bas timmers

Vee,

Since I won't be able to make it to Normandy this year, I'd like to ask you a small favor.

If you go to that area, please take a view photos of the area where the "German villa" was near Vierville.

It's on Charlie Beach (the "side beach" of Omaha Beach).

My friend Michael climbed those bluffs and hit the German defenses from the rear on D-Day.

He was part of the Ranger force that got re-directed to Omaha sector when they thought the assault at Pointe-du-Hoc had failed.

I also believe there is a pretty good chance he was with the force that assaulted the Maisy battery (recently discovered).

Could you also take a few pictures of Dog Green?

That is where my other friend Jim (Assault Engineer) landed in the 3rd wave on D-Day.

Thank you very very much for considering.

Erwin

Erwin ,

I would be happy to take pictures of these places for you!

I hope only you will like them and you would have taken them this way!

I would not want you to be disappointed !

Vee ;)

Any picture would be great for me, Veronique. :armata_PDT_37:

I still feel bad about not being able to make it over this year, but I will try to be there next year. And hope to take my Fiancée with me as she is interested in this (thank god).

Erwin

Hi everyone WOW !!

That it was magnificent on 6 june 2009 .

But, I was unable to attend the ceremony cemetery of Colleville .

Because An invitation was necessary .

I was not able to see your President Barak Obama .

But ,I have made many photos I'll post a few at a time !

Here , pictures of Vierville Sur Mer , where I met the sergeant Lewis Basquil 91 year old who landed on 6 June 1944 .Then the pictures of the ceremony on the photos , three veterans including a nurse and her husband (pilot Dakota) that have casualty evacuation of Omaha .

Hi Erwin here pictures of Charlie Beach (the "side beach" of Omaha Beach).

i hope you like them !
