Thanks Marion. It was a real surprise for me to get the certificate. I didn't expect to get it. I will post a picture of it as soon as possible.

Frank

A concept for the monument is ready, we have a spot to place the monument. We have a date to inaugurate it (weekend of September 5-6) with veterans from the Old Hickory!!! Now we have to wait for some fundraisers and hope the monument will be ready in time.

I won't post the concept now but if time goes by I will let you know how everything develops.

Frank

Yes, do keep us posted on the progress. So happy to hear that the "ball is rolling" and things are coming together for the project.

I will surely keep you posted. There is a certain interest from people out of the village in our project. So I think that everyone will like the new monument.

Perhaps a silly question but is there anybody who knows if the American Government will pay some money for a tribute like this. Or does anyone know someone who I can contact with this question.

Thanks in advance,

Frank

I would think this question might be asked of someone at the American Embassy. I would try that first!

That's a good one Marion. We haven't thought about that.

Thanks

Yes, the US Embassy would be a good idea.

We had a representative at one of our commemorations at the Glider Monument.

A very friendly guy with a genuine interest in what we did.

Erwin

Hopefully the guy in Holland has the same kind of interest.

Okay. This is our concept. A triangle (mile)stone. 35 cm wide and 120 cm high. There will be an additional text but we haven't finished that. Please give us your opinion.

Regards,

Frank
