How do I contact "Rick"? Would love to get a copy of the "Magazine".

Just sent you Rick's email address via personal message. Didn't want to post on the forum in public. Let me know and welcome to the forum. Hope we can help you.

Atrometer, you started another post yesterday, so I deleted it and am adding your comments here:

I am looking for information about my Uncle (1914 -1963) who was in the "Combat Engineers" (don't know what unit or where). His last pay voucher early 1946 says years of service 0, which of course cannot be correct. He went through Fort Dix, NJ (Basic), which in itself is strange as that's where I went through Basic there in 1960. Any info./help appreciated.

I posted this in the other thread about the 1260th as well but I'm double posting just to be safe as I'd hate for someone to miss out on this as they seem to have been looking for it:

HEY! The battalion history is up on ebay! I just saw it tonight, sounds like it is exactly what you're looking for. It has 9 days left of bidding:

SCARCE WWII UNIT HISTORY BOOK - 1260TH ENGINEER COMBAT BATTALION ETO FRANCE

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SCARCE-WWII-UNIT-HISTORY-BOOK-1260TH-ENGINEER-COMBAT-BATTALION-ETO-FRANCE-/381055034155?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58b8a6632b

Thanks for posting this. These engineer books are rare and indeed, precious!

I have this on my EBAY watch list. If someone from here is going to bid on it, please let me know by replying. If no one is going to pick it up, then I will place a bid. I don't want to compete with any members of this unit or their families.
