Hi, I am the daughter of Capt. Richard (Dick) Thompson (deceased), World War II veteran. I am looking for other members who were a part of this group or descendants of such veterans who may be interested in sharing news or history with me. Please let me know. You could email me at yarrowdebbie@yahoo.com Thanks! : )

A warm welcome to you Debbie. We're glad to have you on board. I hope you are able to find what you are looking for and we'll be more than happy to try and help.

If you have read anything on the site or on this forum regarding my dad, you will know that it is POSSIBLE. After looking for a long time, I was able to find members of the 540th and a wealth of info on their unit. I never thought it would be possible, but I was pleasantly proved wrong.

A happy new year to you and yours. Please make sure you check out the research section of this forum. There are many great links and resources at your disposal.

Have you already seen this? Memories of Lawrence T Page. I just sent you an email with his son's email address. That should prove interesting.

Here is a contact for the 148th too. Don't know if it's still valid but worth a shot:

148th Engineer Battalion

Mr. Leroy Sten

1396 Beech Street Extension

Washington, PA 15301

(412) 225-9452

I am also going to place this info in the Lost and Found section. That should help too!

Hi Debbie. May I say "WELCOME" also. In the welcome from "Walt's Daughter", the first paragraph says it all. As you go deeper into her forum, you will see her footprints everywhere. She is genuinely interested in everyone who posts. Have you noticed how long it took her to answer your post. 28 minutes. Not from a computer generated welcome, but from her to you. So stick around Debbie; I'm sure you will find what you are looking for. Sans the ill humor and bad language.
